I just got off the phone with my mom. She called to tell me that my aunt (the one with cancer) is not doing well at. all. She is in major pain, and has a bunch of other (seemingly minor) complications. She is bedridden and in hospice care. We're praying for relief of her pain and peace for her family (husband and 3 boys age 15, 18, and 23) about what is to come.


UPDATE: I thought I updated this this morning, but I had an LJ problem, and it looks like it didn't update. My aunt passed away at 4:45am this morning. We're thankful that it went fast once she got really bad. Thanks for all the vibes.

I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row for my trip to Europe.  I decided it would be nice if I had a power source for my MacBook for the flight.  Normally when I fly, I'm just taking a short domestic flight and just rely on my battery, but I don't think my battery will last for the entire flight.  My airplane/airline is supposed to have EmPower as the type of power available.  I know there's a MagSafe airplane adapter available from Apple, but it's $50 and doesn't work in cars.  I can't really justify spending $50 on an adapter I'll most likely only use twice (on the way there, and on the way back).  I'd love to be able to find either something cheaper, or something that works both in a car (cigarette lighter) and in an airplane (EmPower).  I've looked at inverters, but they aren't cheap either.

Does anyone have any brilliant ideas?  :)

It was seriously -24F out - actual temperature - on my way to work this morning. Wind chill of -41F. I started my car early, as usual, and let it warm up for about 15 minutes, but when I got out there, it hadn't even managed to defrost the windshield at all. We didn't get any snow last night (too cold), but there was frost. So I got in my car, and there was a little like 3 inch circle right above the defroster that was starting to thaw. Normally, after letting it warm up for 15 minutes, the car is all thawed out and toasty warm inside! I ended up having to scrape the frost off the windshield, which I hate doing....it's like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.

Anyway, hope everyone has a great day, and DRESS WARM!!

 I swear, I'm so sick of the passive agressive crap that my boss's secretary keeps spewing!  She sits right behind me, so I hear everything.  I realize she's going through a tough time, but really, it's not necessary.  Then she whines to me about everything anybody says or does that she doesn't like.   There's a land called Passive-Agressiva, and she is their queen, not Addison Montgomery-Shepard.
